OUR STORY
Tim Kennedy moved to the Napa Valley over a decade ago leaving behind a successful career in post production and movie marketing in Hollywood. A long time avid wine collector, wine and the wine industry have always been an integral part of his life, along with being a source of great joy and curiosity. Taking many vacations to this region, each one pushing him a step closer to wanting to call this beautiful place home. In 2011 he fulfilled this lifelong dream of living in the Napa Valley and became a small part of this wonderful and close-knit community.
Launching Napa Films in 2012, he's been shooting and producing videos for wineries, resorts, breweries, restaurants and a host of other clients. Storytelling through beautiful imagery is at the core of what the team at Napa Films does. With a creative, yet incredibly budget-conscious approach, it enables the team to shoot footage and provide content to clients year-round. Immersing viewers in the seasonal rhythms of the valley and providing an intimate and behind the scenes look at winemaking in its finest moments.
Napa Films shoots beautiful photography for social media and websites, and creates compelling videos for digital content as well as long and short form pieces. Napa Films has been honored with multiple Wine Spectator International Video Awards.
**We also rescue Bernese Mountain Dogs - some that have become the best vineyard and winery camera crew in town!
OUR Work
SHAFER VINEYARDS
A favorite client (and favorite wine!!), the team has been working with Shafer Vineyards for over 12 years. Storytelling and beautiful visuals are synonymous with this brand. The "A Winery Year" video was chosen as a Finalist in the 2018 Wine Spectator Video Competition and was an Honorable Mention for "Best Inside Look". A year long shoot of time-lapse and video footage of the beautiful seasons and surrounds of this wonderful location in the Stags Leap District. In the previous year's WS Video Competition Shafer also received a Finalist award for "Replanting Lower Sunspot", shooting meticulous time-lapse footage of a vineyard spanning 3 years, as well as our "Making a French Wine Barrel" chosen as Honorable Mention that same year!) OPUS ONE WINERY
The Partners' Room at Opus One Winery is not only a beautiful new Tasting space, but one that is filled with history, art, stories and intricate architectural details, a perfect blend and feast for the eyes and senses. Tasting on the Roof Terrace has always been special as you can see across the beautiful valley in all directions, but the Partner's Room has a wonderful outdoor veranda that overlooks the Napa River and beyond. It is truly a magical spot.
MAD FRITZ BREWERY
Nile Zacharle and Whitney Fisher at Mad Fritz craft ales and lagers with an emphasis on controlling the raw materials that further the expression of a time, place and the people that make it happen. Their philosophy is that the best beers are crafted while including the community and the Napa Valley is an incredible place that inspires them to grow, ferment and create: wine, food and beer! As Nile says, they have an endless number of skilled farmers, viticulturists, and just plain fun people to work with that love the dirt, and at the end of the day, beer is kind of like people...we are distinctive, complex, diversified, and prone to be interpreted in many different ways. We absolutely LOVE this beer and were honored to help shoot and showcase the beauty of what makes them unique.
Obsidian wine co.
The highlight of this project was really getting to know the partners and employees behind this brand, as well as visit all the stunning sights you'll see in this piece (including our very own personal pilot in partner Arpad Molnar, and shooting while being flown up to Obsidian Ridge Vineyards.) This campaign is continuing with social media shorts and videos that focus on the many aspects of this winery, including the vineyards in Carneros and Lake County, and barrel making in Hungary.
SUNRISE HORSE RESCUE
A fundraising video for Sunrise Horse Rescue, a wonderful non-profit horse rescue and sanctuary in Napa.
They are dedicated to saving, rehabilitating and providing horses with forever homes. Making a huge difference, one horse at a time. We continue to work with them on projects and happy to help however we can.
UPVALLEY FAMILY CENTERS
The UpValley Family Centers are based in Calistoga and St. Helena. They believe that healthy families are the foundation of a strong community and thereby provide strengths-based, culturally relevant services, coordinating resources and activities that educate, develop skills and promote health and well-being. The UpValley Family Centers provide guidance, support and resources in the community, in the home and for individuals of all ages. We are honored to help in small part with a video highlighting some of the programs.
